I am new to Ventura County and needed a new hair stylist and waxer. I looked up salons online and MIchael Kelley Salon had the CUTEST website ever! I first had a consult with Heidi and she was very knowledgeable and listened to me when I told her what I wanted. I am very picky and have had my hair the same for years. She did my hair a week later and it looked AMAZING!! I will go back to her for sure, even though she was a little pricey. I had my eyebrows and brazillian done with Jenn. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. I explained to her that I had a few bad experiences before with skin irritation and waxers not really knowing what they were doing. She waxed my eyebrows and brazillian in less than 20 minutes and I was impressed. Michael Kelley Salon is the best salon in Ventura County by far! You will feel comfortable and want to come back for sure!! -J

I went to Michael Kelley and had a gift certificate to use. I already have a great hair stylist elsewhere and decided to get a brow wax. I went in and met Carrie who led me back to the cute little spa. She had me lay down and started at the waxing. I have have many brow waxes before and she had nice brows so I trusted her to do a professional job. The wax felt ok, the plucking was painful...then she showed me the mirror. I was horrified. How could an "upscale salon" do this? My brows were almost gone, barely there. I had nicer brows when I came in and would have preferred them to the small uneven lines I left with. I did mention to her that I was disappointed in how thin they were. She had no comment. I cannot believe it happened for one and for two how she handled my disappointment. I was so frustrated I just paid and left. I highly recommend that if you need your brows waxed...to NOT get them done here.

I was new to the area and went to MK Salon, the first couple of times I went the girl who did my hair was nice, friendly, and did exactly what I wanted for a cut & color. Two weeks before my wedding I went to get my hair cut & colored, she left the color on for the highlights so long it FRIED my hair!!! I left the salon and she never said a word to me about it. I hadn't noticed it it was late and the way it was styled you couldn't tell. Until the next morning when I went to do my own hair. I was so upset that I had paid over $125 + tip I cried for about two hours. I call the salon that morning, when I confronted that hair stylist she told me that I must have put something in my hair in order for it to burn like that! I wouldn't pay a salon good money to do my hair so that I could go home and do it myself! Worst part is that they didn't want to admit they screwed up and wouldn't even consider giving me a refund! I would not recommend you using this salon at all!! I am much happier with my new salon and I just hope that my burnt/fried hair will grow back some day. My new stylist said it could take at least a year before it comes back to normal.
